MONDAY: We had our last prep day with our Newton district! And then we pretty much packed the rest of the day.
TUESDAY: Transfers! I got transferred to Lawrence, Topeka! And my companion is Sister Atkins! Its so beautiful here and sister Atkins is the best and so funny! We are always laughing. We spent this day driving to our area and getting settled in.
WEDNESDAY: Not much happened this day we went out knocking and met some members who are so nice and fed us dinner.
THURSDAY: This day we were so busy with member lessons and we got put on a Tornado warning, meaning that we had to take shelter right away. Our shelter is at a members house and they lowkey made it a party. They fed us, they were playing games, and our whole district and one other district all shelters there. We did some phone calls and texts while we were there.
FRIDAY: We had some service! We got to help a lady in her garden. As we were helping in her garden her little girls came up to us and said “look at all these little bugs!” In their garden they have ladybugs, worms, snails, and rolly pulleys. It was so fun seeing all the bugs in the garden that I would love to hold and watch as a little girl. The little girl then said “Jesus is alive! He's not dead he lives.” In the sweetest little voice! My heart melted. We spent the rest of the day doing member lessons and knocking.
SATURDAY: We had tons and tons of knocking this day! We had some awesome pop up lessons. We also had volleyball night, so we got to meet some people from the ward there and I got completely humbled by getting spiked in the face by a volleyball.
SUNDAY: we had an awesome stake conference this day and a yummy lunch for the missionaries after! After we got home from Stake Conference and we were doing personal study when we heard a quite humming noise. Come to find out that quite humming was tornado sirens! They only set off the sirens when there is a tornado in the area. We didn't even know there was a watch on the area so this took us by complete surprise! We gathered our things quickly and ran out the door and drove straight to our shelter at the members house. We sheltered for another 2 hours. The tornado didn't have enough energy to touch ground but it swirled a little in the sky! After the tornado was done the members fed us dinner and had us go visit some cute girls who are recent converts. One of the girls wants to be a missionary so they thought it would be good to meet with some sisters since they were only taught by elders. It was the best! They are the cutest family.
God is so good!
