On the ground in Kansas

I love the sign in the background...

After a 4:00 am departure on Tuesday and a flight from SLC right over Kansas to Atlanta GA, she made her flew half way back across the Country and made it to Wichita ~5:00 PM.  Excited to find out who she's with and what area she's in.

Adventures at the MTC

Hello! This week was my first week at the Provo Missionary Training Center! But I've officially been a missionary for 16 days, so crazy! The MTC is the coolest because there's so many beautiful pictures of Christ and the spirit is here all the time.

Saying goodbye to my family was so hard and I already miss them so much, but I'm grateful for the calls I get with them. I pray for them everyday and I know Heavenly Father is watching over them for me.

This week we got to go to the temple twice, we were able to do baptisms, initiatories, and an endowment session. On Saturday I woke up tired and unmotivated but we went to the temple later that day and my whole day flipped around for the better. I love the temple and the peace it brings! And guess what, 2 of my relatives who I was able to do work for in the temple were born in Kansas! God is SO GOOD.

I love the people I am surrounded with. I love my teachers so much, the sisters in my district are the sweetest ever, and the elders in my group are super goofy (but they make everything fun).

On Sunday we went to church and then we had a "go and do experience" meaning that we got to study the scriptures for like 2 hours. It was actually the best. I studied Jesus Christ's Atonement and felt God's and Jesus Christ's love for me so strongly!

Some fun things:
♡ on the bus ride to the temple we played fun car games.
♡ me and my district had a little photoshoot at the temple
♡ the creamery ice cream is so yummy
♡ me and my district love playing volleyball any chance we get. But don't put us in a tournament RIP.
♡ my teacher has a "waterfall activity" where we start on the 6th floor of our building and teach a lesson to our companion as we walk down the stairs. Once we get to the bottom we ride the elevator back up to the 6th floor and talk about how the lesson went. This is our favorite because it gets us moving after a long day of sitting. We get some funny looks from the other missionaries who watched us walk down the stairs over and over again lol.
♡ this isn't fun but it's eventful: A sister from my group hit her head and had to go to the ER. She's all good but she has a concussion. She's on bedrest so her companion gets to take lots of naps too. Pray for her!

"Although we are imperfect and may fall short again, there is more grace, love, and mercy in Jesus Christ than there is failure, flaw, or sin in us."-PMG

I love you all so much! God is good!

From the MTC

We haven't heard any updates from Aynslee from the MTC yet.  Her first P-day is still coming, but I got this picture from Shawn Challis, my mission buddy I served with in NYC.  Our missionaries are in the MTC together and found each other for a photo op.  This is the kind of picture that will make a proud dad's heart melt.

MTC Drop off

We took Aynslee up to the MTC on Wednesday, Jan 14th.  We had lunch first at the Brick Oven in Provo with Grandma and Grandpa Emery and Grandma Alexander.  The drop off was obviously too quick and a little emotional.
